Main highlights
- For the 29th August 2014, a total of 43new samples were received and analysed by the CDC Kenema& South African NICD MLU Western Area Laboratory: Kailahun (10), Kenema (12), Kambia (1), Koinadugu (5), Pujehun (1), Bo (6) and Western Area (8). Fifteen (15) of these samples are positive, 20 are negative while 8 suspected cases have been recommended by the CDC Kenema & NICD MLU Labfor a second test base on their symptoms onset.(See table 1)
- One positive sample tested by the NICD MLU Lab was not counted here since it has no identification
- The cumulative number of Laboratory confirmed cases are 1,033 whiles confirmed death is 383 with a Case Fatality Rate (CFR) based on confirmed cases of 37.1%.
- Sixty-four (64) patients are currently admitted at the Kenema Isolation Unitwith no report received from theKailahun Isolation unit. Cumulative discharge is still 244
- CDC Kenema Laboratory is still analysing Kailahun samples
- DMOs, DSOs & clinicians are reminded to read the comment on the daily Laboratory result for your action
- Data cleaning is on-going, therefore the figures in table 1 will keep on changing as the cleaning continues
