The majority of cases are now concentrated in Basse-Guinée. Two confirmed cases have also been identified in Macenta Prefecture – a mother and her child.
Intensification of cross border initiatives in Guinea, of which a two-day meeting between Guinea, Mali and Senegal, (26-27 February) took place in Labé, with over 100 participants. A key outcome of meeting was the signing of an official communiqué by the three countries which highlights for example, the strengthening of cross border health services, through training, establishing early warning systems and isolation/observation centres.
UNMEER is organising a “Forum des Forces Vives de la Guinée” in Conakry on 12 March 2015. The key purpose of this forum is to strengthen the commitment of civil, religious and political leaders in Guinea against Ebola and to ensure that this fight remains a top national priority and that communities act in harmony to stop EVD transmission
