Main highlights
- For the 20th August 2014, a total of 9new samples were received and analysed by the Kenema and Kailahun Laboratory: Kenema (3),Kailahun (4), Port Loko (1) and Western Area (1).Four (4) of these samples are positive from Kailahun (1), Kenema (2) and Port Loko (1).Four (4) of the remaining samples are negative while 1 sampleis Lab. pending result.(see table 1)
- Five (5) of the previous Lab. pending resultarenow positive from Kenema (3),Port Loko (1) and Pujehun (1) while 11 are negative all from Kenema
- The cumulative number of Laboratory confirmed cases are 813 whiles confirmed death is 322 with a Case Fatality Rate (CFR) based on confirmed cases of 39.6%.
- Seventy-one (71) patients are currently admitted at the Kenema & Kailahun Isolation Unitwithcumulative discharges of 227
- Data cleaning is on-going, therefore the figures in table 1 will keep on changing as the cleaning continues
- The CDC Lab. team is now in Kenema setting up Laboratory equipment. Testing will hopefully commence on Friday, August 22, 2014
