For the 14th August 2014, a total of 41 new samples were analysed by the Kenema Laboratory: Kenema (28), Bombali (1), Port Loko (3), Moyamba (1) and Western Area (8).Thirteen (13) of these samples are positive from Kenema (8),Port Loko (2),Moyamba (1) and Western Area (2).Twenty-six (26) of the remaining samples are negative from Kenema (18), Bombali (1),Port Loko (1) and Western Area (6) while 2 samples are recorded as pending Lab. result.(see table 1)
One (1) of the4 previous Lab. pending results is positive and 2 negative all from Kenema while the Western Area pending result yesterday has been requested for a second draw
Laboratory result forthe Kailahun Lab. was not received, therefore Lab. result for Kailahun district not reported The cumulative number of Laboratory confirmed cases are 747 whiles confirmed death is 280 with a Case Fatality Rate (CFR) based on confirmed cases of 37.5%.
