This document assesses the impact of the Ebola outbreak on the WASH sector.
During the crisis people used alternative water sources and sanitation facilities, particularly if in quarantine.
Ebola facilities have added to the demand on an already weak WASH systems.
The WASH response has focused on new structures rather than maintenance of existing ones.
A focus on facilities has drawn resources away from communities.Remote rural areas and urban slums are the most vulnerable and most affected by a weakened WASH sector.
