REGIONAL OVERVIEW
Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia are the three countries where the Ebola virus has been detected. Neighbouring countries are taking preventive measure to tackle the spread of the epidemic.
As of today, 134 people have died as a consequence of the virus (118 in Guinea, six in Sierra Leone and 10 in Liberia.)
UNICEF continues to work closely with partners, including Ministries of Health, to carry out prevention and emergency preparedness activities across the subregion.
Cross border activities are ongoing to exchange information, lessons and best practices and strengthen surveillance, prevention and response intervention.
