World: Implementation of the International Health Regulations (2005) - Responding to public health emergencies - Report by the Director-General

In response to resolution WHA61.2, in which it was decided that States Parties to the International Health Regulations (2005) and the Director-General shall report to the Health Assembly on the implementation of the Regulations annually, the present report provides an overview of the international response in 2014 to public health events and emergencies, with a particular focus on the role of WHO and the International Health Regulations (2005) in preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to such events. This document is a companion to the report by the Review Committee on Second Extensions for Establishing National Public Health Capacities and on IHR Implementation.
