HIGHLIGHTS
• A two week long IOM Community Sensitization exercise that will target coastal slums in Freetown, Sierra Leone began 09 January.
• To ensure all airport staff undergo health screening prior to entry, 10 doctors now monitor the front gate, 24 hours a day, at Lungi International Airport in Sierra Leone.
• IOM completed its first distribution of equipment, protective supplies, and office supplies to retrofit 14 Provincial Emergency Operations Centres throughout Guinea.
• At the Tubmanburg ETU in Liberia, medical staff are supporting health system restoration efforts in Bomi County.
• IOM delivered 8,000 EVD prevention posters and 20,000 health declaration forms to be used at all major points of entry in Ghana.
• On the border between Mali and Guinea, 11 flow monitoring points have been established to monitor migratory flows and strengthen response capacities to prevent further spread of EVD.
