Highlight — Nutrition support in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone
The revised Emergency Operation further reinforces nutrition-sensitive programming in all stages of WFP’s response, care, contain and the eventual transition, to ensure the integration of appropriate nutrient-rich foods throughout WFP’s assistance. Rations are designed in line with the latest nutrition guidelines and the joint WFP/UNICEF strategy, which is currently under finalization.
Last week, WFP delivered by sea and by air 37 mt of Plumpy’Sup, intended for patients in treatment and discharged survivors, to the three affected countries.
Procurement and delivery of Supercereal under the care and containment response continues in the three countries.
4 pillars of WFP support:
Delivering food and nutrition support alongside the health response;
Mitigating the impact of the health emergency on food security;
Ensuring the movement of partner staff and materials; and 4. Providing common services and infrastructure support for health partners.
