In numbers
To date, in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone:
21,000 mt of food delivered to 1.6 million people since the end of August 2014;
2,771 responders transported by UNHAS, with two planes and one helicopter in operation; and
26,320 m3 of cargo transported since Sep-tember 2014.
Highlight — Support mission to WFP Mali Country Office
Following new cases of Ebola in Mali, WFP’s Regional Bureau in Dakar sent a mission to Bamako with the purpose of supporting the preparedness of the Coun-try Office. The mission reviewed the health protection measures already in place for WFP staff and shared the lessons learned from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone on risk mitigating measures and protocols. WFP is also discussing with WHO and UNDP on how to in-crease the medical facilities in Bamako and Mopti. The first case of Ebola was detected in Mali on 23 Oc-tober, after which UNHAS dispatched medical sup-plies from Monrovia.
