Regional Outbreak
Reported Cases: The total cumulative number of reported cases across the region had reached 15,319, including 5,444 deaths (Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone each reported over 17–18 November) (WHO, 21/11/2014).
Projection: CDC is working on a new estimate for Ebola infections and no longer projects that Liberia and Sierra Leone will have 1.4 million cases by January 2015 (Bloomberg, 21/11/2014).
Mali: Six cases, all fatal, have been reported in Mali (WHO, 21/11/2014). The United Nations is expanding its Ebola emergency mission to include Mali (UNMEER, 21/11/2014).
Senegal: Senegal has reopened air and sea borders with Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, but the land border between Guinea and Senegal remains closed (AFP, 15/11/2014).
