17,800 mt of food delivered to 1.47 million people since the end of August 2014.
2,361 responders transported by UNHAS, with two planes and one helicopter in operation.
Highlight— Construction of the humanitaritarian terminal in Dakar airport
Construction of a passenger and cargo facility in support of the humanitarian corridor for the Ebola response in West Africa began this week. Terminal H has been designed to fulfill the agreement between the Government of Senegal and WFP and to put in place a more permanent structure required for the operation of the Air Humanitarian Corridor.
UNHAS operated the first flight from Dakar to Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone on 25 September. Since the beginning of the regular rotations, on 7 October, 529 passengers have flown through Dakar. Until the completion of the new facility, arriving and departing passengers will continue to be screened in the temporary Air Terminal.
