The Sierra Leone Business Women Hub a local humanitarian organization has donated personal hygiene kits to survivors at the Ebola Treatment Centre at Hastings.
Presenting the kits the Co-Founder, Lawyer Finda Koroma congratulated the survivors for their success story, describing the nurses and doctors at the Treatment Centre as heroes and heroines in the fight against Ebola.

She encouraged the survivors to feel proud in going back to their various communities strong and healthy.
Lawyer Koroma disclosed the putting together of a multi-million dollar project to empower survivors with income generating and educational programs, and advised the survivors to take the necessary precautionary measures.
Receiving the items Deputy Health and Sanitation Minister II, Madam Madina Rahman thanked the Sierra Leone Business Women Hub for their continued support to the survivors and the Treatment Centre, adding that there is no amount of money that would compensate them and the medical team at the Centre for the sacrificial work.
The Assistant Centre Coordinator, Dr. Major Henry Bangura described the gesture as an invaluable treasure to the survivors and the Centre, and expressed their commitment in the execution of their duties in making the Ebola Treatment Unit at Hastings a Centre of Excellence.

He said they have recorded 332 cumulative cases since the inception of the Centre, with 26 deaths, on arrival at the Centre, and cumulative discharged successful cases of 164 survivors.
Major Dr. Bangura disclosed that no staff has been infected by the disease since the start of operation on September 19, 2014.
He cautioned the survivors to abstain from sexual activities for 90 days with a view to maintaining their Ebola free status.
