Sierra Leone: Deputy Health Minister lauds World Vision

Freetown, Sept. 24, 2014 (MoHS) – Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation II Madam Madina Rahman has lauded World Vision for aiding Sierra Leone in the fight against the Ebola virus disease.

Receiving the consignment of the air lifted medical supplies on behalf of the government which includes 4 million pairs of gloves, 8 thousand gallons of five percent chlorine and a large quantity of Personal Protective Equipment, Madam Rahman expressed gratitude and appreciation to World Vision, describing the donation as timely. The Deputy Minister said the gesture arrived at a time when the government is in dire need for additional medical equipment to combat the deadly Ebola virus disease.

She noted the strong partnership with Local and International NGOs, and their continued assistance, adding that as a government and a nation more support is needed to contain the disease.

Presenting the items, World Vision National Director, Leslie Scott said the donation worth more than Two Hundred Thousand Pounds and made possible through World Vision USA as part of their contributions to support the government and people of Sierra Leone in the fight against the deadly Ebola disease.
